The media has been barred from accessing the Chamber where ODM leader Raila Odinga is set to address senators on the county Revenue formula.

The clerk of the Senate, Jeremiah Nyegenye, said the event is a closed-door one.

Raila and Speaker Kingi are currently making their way into the chamber.

Raila and the senators will address journalists after the closed session.

Senators were taken through the proposed formula by the House Finance and Budget Committee, which scrutinised a framework proposed by the Commission on Revenue Allocation.

The panel, led by Mandera Senator Ali Roba, led the committee in taking the senators through the proposed formula.

The committee has since tabled its reports, differing from that of CRA

The formula will guide the sharing of revenue among the 47 devolved units for the next five years.

Two weeks ago, Speaker Amason Kingi suspended the debate on the formula to allow members to be taken through the proposed frameworks.
