Three suspected gangsters have been arrested by police in Nyali, Mombasa County.

The three, Pascal Safari Nzae, aged 20, Hashim Hamisi, aged 22, and Samuel Ndeche Omondi, aged 22 were rounded up as one suspect escaped the police dragnet.

According to Nyali Police Commander Moses Kirong’, the three suspects were arrested by officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) who were posing as delivery personnel using a motorcycle.

Kirong’ said that the officers’ trap was set following a series of reported cases of robbery.

The suspects were caught attempting to steal a Play Station valued at KSh.80,000.

During the operation, police officers fired several rounds at the suspects, neutralizing them.

A motorcycle believed to have been used by the criminals was also recovered.
