Oga Obinna has responded to claims that he left the country following the killing of Father John Maina Ndegwa. Oga Obinna responded to claims he left Kenya after Father John Maina’s Death. Obinna recently interviewed Rigathi Gachagua.  Is Oga Obinna leaving Kenya? Maina, the parish priest of Igwamiti Catholic Parish, was found dead three weeks after hosting former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua. According to reports, Maina was abducted, assaulted with a blunt object, and later discovered abandoned near the roadside in Kikopey, Gilgil, Nakuru County, roughly 50 kilometres from his parish.  He succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at St. Joseph Hospital in Gilgil, where he had been rushed for emergency care.

Nyandarua Senator John Methu recalled how Maina had graciously hosted Gachagua and his delegation during the parish’s 25th family day event on April 27. In his final sermon, Maina urged political leaders to lead with humility, uphold integrity, and prioritise the welfare of all Kenyans. Following Maina’s death, rumours circulated online that Obinna, who had an explosive interview with Gachagua at his Wamunyoro home, had fled the country. In the interview, Gachagua claimed that Ruto cried while seeking his support to run for the presidency. Gachagua said Ruto’s tears, as he recounted how he suffered under Uhuru Kenyatta’s leadership, swayed his heart. “Oba Obinna spotted this evening at JKIA leaving Kenya after getting news of the murder of a Catholic priest who hosted Gachagua two weeks ago,” a Facebook user wrote. The post caught Obinna’s attention, and the entertainer absolved himself of any wrongdoing. “Surely. I have not done anything. I have not wronged anyone,” Obinna wrote.

Numerous Kenyans reacted by reassuring Obinna, while others made light of the situation. Here are some of the comments: Wanjikustephens: “We will protect you, don’t worry.” Sara Sarai: “Just be safe out there wherever you are. May God watch over you always.” celebrity.gossip.club: “Good thing you have your bodyguard, Munez.” law____ : “Tell Munez to work out every day.” Artiernoeh: “Remind him that you carried him on a wheelbarrow, and he will forgive you.” bigman_bazuu001: “The views and statements were of the guest. Not the show host.” tony_mwirigi: “Don’t try, man.” superman_fitness_ke: “No worries, brother, you will not be touched. God above all.” junky_w: “Just relax, they are fuelling the Subaru vehicles.” Did Obinna carry Ruto on wheelbarrow? In other news, Obinna revealed that he played a key role in creating the wheelbarrow campaign concept associated with President Ruto but claimed he was never compensated.

He mentioned developing the idea alongside Ano Neosoul. Oga Obinna claimed he wasn’t paid for carrying William Ruto on a wheelbarrow in 2021. Photos: Oga Obinna.
