Comedian Oga Obinna has received a major boost after politician Rigathi Gachagua and his wife, Pastor Dorcas, offered to buy 300 tickets for his upcoming stand-up comedy show next month.
The leader of the new political party, DCP, made the promise when he appeared on Obinna Show Live on Friday Night.
Obinna informed him that he will be holding his comedy show at a Nairobi venue next month, and explained the ticket prices, and also said that he would like to have an audience of 800 people, although the venue has a capacity of 1500 people.
“My comedy show will be on 7th June, a day after my birthday. Last week we had a pre-sale of tickets at 1000 each, but right now each goes up to Sh1,500,” Obinna explained to Riggy G.
Riggy G offered to buy 200 tickets to be given to people who would like to attend but cannot afford them, while his wife, Pastor Dorcas, announced an additional 50 tickets.

Pastor Dorcas, who during her short time as the wife of the deputy president launched an initiative to advocate for boys’ rights, said that her 50 tickets will be exclusively for men.
Gachagua asked Obinna to distribute the tickets equally so that an equal number of men and women would benefit, and after some wrangling over the distribution matrix, Obinna urged Gachagua to increase the number of tickets to 300 so that they could be distributed properly, and Gachagua agreed.
“I can sponsor quite a number of young people, but how will you determine the ones to help?” Gachagua questioned Obinna before adding, “I’d want a situation where you have a capacity to help those who really want to come but they’re not able financially.”
Gachaua made it clear that his commitment to providing tickets to 200 young people is not a political motivation but is due to his sincere desire to bring smiles to the faces of young people, because that is where he also finds fulfillment.
“If you say you’ll have about 800 people, Riggy G will support 200 of them. I really love young people, and if I can make them, those I support, I’ll be a happy person. I’ll organise how the party will get you, then you can allow them to attend…and Mama Pastor Dorcas is also adding 50 tickets, they must be boys.” Riggy G added.
At the end, Gachagua heeded Obinna’s plea to make the total number of tickets from the two be 300 for the ease of distribution between both genders equally.
