Craving a flavourful dish? Look no further! These tangy, subtly spicy chicken drumsticks are quick and easy to prepare, making them perfect for a weeknight treat or casual gathering!
What you will need:
1 kg of chicken drumsticks
1 tsp garlic and ginger paste
Salt to taste
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
Juice of 1 lime
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
100 g plain flour
1 litre of vegetable oil for frying
Sauce:
250 g salted margarine
50 g paprika (red sweet pepper powder)
1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper
2 tablespoons of vinegar
Juice of two limes
1 teaspoon garlic and ginger paste
Method:
Marinate the chicken drumsticks in a mixture of lime juice, black pepper, garlic and ginger paste. Leave to infuse for 1-2 hours, then sprinkle with flour and mix well.
In a deep pan, fry the chicken in vegetable oil over a medium heat until golden brown and crispy on the outside. Remove from the oil and set aside.
In a pan over a medium heat, melt the margarine, then reduce the heat to low and add the garlic and ginger paste, vinegar and lime juice.
Cook for two minutes, then remove from the heat and add the paprika and cayenne pepper. Stir well until combined. At this point, do not return to the heat as the paprika will burn.
Put the chicken in the sauce mixture, stir well and coat all the chicken pieces in the sauce. Serve on a plate, garnish with leeks and enjoy!
