Source: Twitter Top Co-op Bank shareholders As of December 31, 2024, Co-op Bank revealed in its shareholder profile that local companies are the largest group of shareholders, holding 81.53% of the bank’s shares through 3,007 firms that collectively own about 4.78 billion shares. On the other hand, 11 foreign companies hold 0.27% (16.11 million shares), and 199 foreign individuals own 0.06% (3.8 million shares). East African firms and individuals have a smaller stake, accounting for 0.03% (1.48 million shares) and 0.01% (652,743 shares), respectively. Junior investors hold 73,939 shares. Others 13.79% Total 18.11% How much profit did Co-op Bank make? On Thursday, March 20, Gideon Muriuki, the managing director of Co-op Bank, released the lender’s 2024 financial results. From KSh 23.2 billion recorded in the prior year, the bank’s net earnings increased by 7.5% to KSh 25.5 billion during the reviewed period. The bank’s board proposed a dividend of KSh 1.50 per share due to the outstanding performance. Its total assets climbed 10.7% to KSh 743.2 billion from KSh 671.1 billion, while net loans and advances dropped slightly to KSh 373.7 billion from KSh 374.2 billion in 2023.
