A 68-year-old South African man was found dead in his washroom where he collapsed on Wednesday, May 7, morning in Parklands, Nairobi.

Police said preliminary findings had shown Mark Nalon Minter had arrived in the country on May 1 on a business trip and was to depart on May 10.

He was in the company of a female companion at the time of the incident.

The woman told police they had retired to bed after dinner, but when she woke up on Wednesday morning, she found him missing.

She later found him lying unresponsive in the toilet, where he had collapsed.

An ambulance from St John’s Ambulance was called in, and upon checking on his vitals, they confirmed him already dead.

Assorted drugs used in treating hypertension and diabetes were found in the deceased’s bag.

Police said they are investigating the death.

The body with a visible injury on the forehead, possibly due to a fall, was moved to the City morgue awaiting autopsy.

The woman was questioned and set free pending a probe into the death, police said.

Elsewhere in Kuria, Migori County, a man was found dead after an attack.

The body of Chacha Marwa was found lying on the ground at the entrance of his house after the attack by his brother.

Police said the man was stabbed and the body had two deep cut wounds on the right side of the head, a deep cut on the shoulder, and a stub wound on the stomach.

The assailant had locked himself in one of the rooms in the homestead before he was flushed out and arrested.

The suspect was arrested, and a murder weapon was recovered in the house.

The body was taken to Wima Hospital mortuary, awaiting autopsy.

The motive of the murder is yet to be disclosed. Police however, suspect disputes related to land to be the cause of the attack.
