Libya’s Swehly Sports Club emerged victorious in a thrilling final against Tunisia’s Espérance Sportive de Tunis at the 46th African Men’s Volleyball Club Championship held in Misrata.

The home team secured the title after a gripping five-set battle, winning 3-2 with scores of 25–23, 23–25, 25–20, 22–25, and 15–12.

The final showcased high-level technical and physical volleyball, with both teams demonstrating their experience and resilience.

Swehly took the first set narrowly, but Espérance de Tunis quickly responded by winning the second set by the same margin.

Swehly regained momentum in the third set through effective blocking and attacking, only for the Tunisians to force a decisive fifth set by taking the fourth.

The final set was a tense and closely contested affair, with Swehly’s players drawing on the energy of their passionate home crowd to edge out their opponents.

Key contributors for Swehly included players wearing numbers 18 and 6, who scored crucial points throughout the match. For Espérance, standout performers were numbers 4 and 11, noted for their serving and net play.

Lasting over two hours, the match was marked by intense rallies and tactical depth, making it one of the most memorable finals in recent African club volleyball history.

The victory is a landmark achievement for Libyan volleyball, symbolizing hope and unity in a nation where sport plays a vital role in social cohesion.

African Volleyball Confederation (CAVB) President Ms. Bouchra Hajij praised the excellent organization and the enthusiastic support from the Libyan fans, hailing the tournament as a major success.
