President William Ruto has arrived at the Vatican ahead of the burial of Pope Francis.

He is accompanied by National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula.

The two landed in Italy on Saturday morning after Ruto concluded a four-day state visit to China.

They are among key global leaders attending the burial ceremony at St Peter’s Square.

Other African presidents expected at the funeral include Félix Tshisekedi of the Democratic Republic of Congo, João Lourenço of Angola, and José Maria Neves of Cape Verde.

Also attending are President Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema of Gabon, Faustin-Archange Touadéra of the Central African Republic, and Mozambique’s President Daniel Chapo.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is also present.
