Transfers not a tool to punish security personnel, warns Murkomen

Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has issued a directive stating that transfers of security personnel to operational or marginalised areas should not be used as a form of punishment.

During his Jukwaa la Usalama tour of the Coast region, Murkomen insisted that personnel should not serve in operation areas for more than 3 months.

“Security personnel who have overstayed in Tana River and other frontier counties/ marginalized areas/ operation areas to be transferred immediately,” he stated in Tana River on Friday.
