Four family members died in a grisly road accident that involved a saloon car and a school bus at Kagoya area along Siaya-Nyadorera road on Sunday night.

The family members including a father (47), his two sons (5 and 10-years old) together with their house help died on the spot following a head on collision.

According to Usonga location Chief Paul Kanoti, the deceased businessman from Port Victoria was driving his family home in a saloon car from Siaya towards Nyadorera when they met their untimely demise.

The saloon car was trying to overtake a lorry when it rammed into the oncoming school bus belonging to Yogo Academy.

Kanoti told Ramogi Radio that the four died instantly while the businessman’s wife and another child sustained severe injuries and are currently in a critical condition.

He added that the driver of the school also sustained serious injuries and they were all rushed to Siaya County referral hospital for treatment.

While confirming the incident, the administrator said the four bodies were moved to Siaya County referral hospital mortuary for preservation to await postmortem examination.
