Planned Power Outage: Nairobi, Nyeri Among 7 Counties to Be Affected on Tuesday, April 1

Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) has announced a scheduled electricity disruption across seven counties on Tuesday, April 1, as part of routine maintenance and network upgrades. The planned power outages will last for at least seven hours in affected areas. In a public notice, KPLC stated that the interruptions are necessary to facilitate system maintenance, connect new customers, and upgrade power lines. . “It is necessary to interrupt supply periodically to facilitate maintenance and upgrade of power lines to the network; to connect new customers or to replace power lines during road construction,” said Kenya Power in a statement on their website.

Which regions will be affected? Nairobi region Part of Westlands (From 9am to 5pm) General Mathenge Road, Donyo Sabuk Lane, Peponi Road, Part of Lower Kabete Road, General Mathenge Lane, Jacaranda Apts, Ivory Apts, General Mathenge Close, Pine Wood Groove Est, Kabete Lane, Total Spring Valley and adjacent customers. Bungoma county Matulo village (From 9am to 5pm) Matulo Village, Ben Captain, Wanyama, Wamang’oli Primary School and adjacent customers. Bukembe (From 9am to 5pm) Bokoli Market, Bokli Dispensary, Bukembe Market, Chebesi Secondary School, Matulo and adjacent customers. Homa Bay county Homa Bay town (From 9am to 4pm) Sofia Est, Homabay High, Homabay Referral Hosp, Homabay County Offices, Homawasco Offices, MTC, Tom Mboya University, Site, Salama, Homabay Market, Shivling Supermarket, Mlimani Est, County Govt Offices, KCB, Equity, Co-op Bank, ABSA Banks, Sonyanco, Cold Spring and adjacent customers. Nyeri county Kiangai Market (From 9am to 5pm) Kiangai Market, Kianyange Village, Kiangai C/Fact, Kiangai Village, Thunguri C/Fact, Karerahungu Village, Bore Kero, Thunguri Village, Kianwe Mkt, Kianwe Village, Kariko Village, Kiambagathi, Kiahiti Village, Safaricom Boosters, Airtel Boosters and adjacent customers.

Laikipia county Segera, Dupatas, Tundra (From 8.30am to 4.30pm) The whole of Olpejeta, Depatas, Tundra, Freshigold, Segera, Zimbabwe, New Daraja Academy and adjacent customers.
