Vybz Kartel’s Wedding: The Surprise Performers He’s Chosen

Jamaican dancehall artist and deejay Vybz Kartel, born, Adidja Azim Palmer, has announced plans to tie the knot with his long-term girlfriend Sidem Öztürk.
While sharing small details revolving around the plans the 46-year-old ‘Summertime’ hitmaker revealed two artists that would mean the world to him if they showed up at his wedding ceremony.
According to Vybz the two artist are his favourite in their respective genres and he would absolutely love it if they got to grace his wedding.

 

Speaking to Hollywood Unlocked during their appearance at the just concluded 67th Grammy Awards ceremony Vybz proudly announced, “Ooh.. we getting married this year… “ After being asked if there were any specials plans between him and his significant other this year.
When asked if he had any stars in mind that he wanted to perform at his wedding, well minus himself of course, the 46-year-old went on to gush over his love and admiration for fellow Jamaican musician Buju Banton and American rapper and singer Cardi B.
“Buju Banton… he is my favourite artist. He is an icon and my favourite dancehall artist. So yeah…” the ‘Colouring This Life,’ singer heartily voiced.

He went on to add that he would love if ‘Bodak Yellow’ crooner Cardi B would also grace his event and bless them with a performance. Taking a moment during the interview to personally invite her to his soon to happen wedding ceremony.
“And internationally? I’ll say Cardi B! You are invited Cardi!” Vybz excitedly said.
The Jamaican artist graced the awards ceremony after receiving his first-ever Grammy nomination. His eight-track EP Party With Me was nominated for Best Reggae Album, category. Making it the first time in 20 years that he’s flown to the US.
Reacting towards the recognition and nomination as a veteran artist who has been making music for decades Vybz said, “I’m still processing… 6 months ago I was in jail. Now, I’m free, I’ve been nominated for a Grammy it feels amazing. That is real and it is amazing. 
Doing music for me is second nature, that part is too easy. I love it. Now that I have gotten a new lease in life I’m going to take this opportunity and I’m going to deliver to the fans.”

Vybz proposed to his girlfriend last year in November, just 3 months after he was released from prison after spending 13 years behind bars.

 

The artist announced his engagement online through a video that he shared on his Instagram page.
In the video he gave fans a sneak peek of the ring as it sat elegantly on a box before walking to their hotel room where Sidem was seated on a couch, dressed in sneakers, jeans, and a white tee.
After exchanging a few words, Vybz dropped to one knee and placed the ring on her finger.
Sealing the jolly moment multiple kisses and warm hugs. With Sidem turning to flash her engagement ring to the camera.
Captioning the post he wrote, “It’s Official #1Wife. I Proposed in Prison, Proposed in #RealLife . You were there when I needed you most and I’ll never leave you baby. I cherish all the times you came to visit me and told me that it’s going to be ok.
I cherish all the times we spoke on the phone and in real life in the box. We laughed together we cried together and now we celebrate together! You’re my best friend and my companion and I pray to God we stay together for as long as I Live. I Love you baby.”
