A devastated family in Dandora, Nairobi county, is desperately searching for their missing loved one. Edwin Mutaraki Kamanda has been missing for the last three years since he disappeared in December 2021. The taxi driver with four clients vanished while on a car hire trip to Nakuru county, but they did not reach their destination. Where were Kamanda’s clients discovered? His heartbroken wife, Joyce Njoki, recounted the fateful day her husband and father of three disappeared.
“He told me he had gotten a car hire gig and left that day at 5am, promising to return home later in the evening. He was carrying four people. Somewhere along the way, something happened. I tried calling him, but he was unreachable.
I went to Nakuru Hospital and the morgues there. I even visited morgues in Gilgil, but I did not find him,” Njoki said after a search launched found the car her husband was driving abandoned near a supermarket in Gilgil. As the search continued, the bodies of the people who were in the car with Kamanda were discovered in River Yala, Siaya county.
