Speaking to Citizen TV on Wednesday, November 27, Atwoli stated that Ruto’s recent actions position him strongly for an easy victory in the next polls.
The long-serving trade unionist argued that Ruto had garnered support from key regions in the country following his broad-based government with the former prime minister Raila Odinga.”I can tell you, here and now, with the direction President William Samoei has taken, that trajectory that he is now taking, he will be the president at 10am, 2027,” Atwoli said. However, the COTU boss’s sentiments attracted criticism from some Kenyans who disagreed with his prediction.
Do Kenyans trust Francis Atwoli? According to netizens, Atwoli should have listed Ruto’s achievements that would warrant his win in the 2027 presidential race. Others trolled Atwoli, saying he predicted Raila’s win in 2022, which never came to pass.
