Content cartel Crazy Kennar |
Kenyan Content cartel Crazy Kennar has explained why he stopped working with his former comedy crew that made ‘Tales of Crazy Kennar’.
The content Cartel had a group, made up of a team of six who used to work in the Tales of Crazy Kennar Productions; Yvonne Khisa, Stanely Omondi, Useful Idioty, Shiro, and Bushra.
His online content, filled with humor and intelligence, sets him apart as the top content creator in Kenya today.
The crew started working together back in 2017 when they joined campus – creating short skits and with the help of friends in the university and the infancy of content on Instagram boosted their popularity.
In 2023, Kennar made headlines after word went around that he was at loggerheads with his castmates.
This is after curious netizens noticed the cast members no longer follow each other on social media and have stopped making content together.
The leader of the crew got a chance in an interview to explain what led to the split of the crew after quite some time.
In a recent interview with YouTuber Oga Obinna, Kennar narrated their growth together despite a split from the team.
He chose members based on their willingness to give their best, without discriminating against anyone.
“We come from a long way when we started off, I used to bring people on board but not people who were actually in the field of art
I appreciate the moments we had together since it was more of a learning curve apart from being workmates we used to be close and we had chemistry together as a team”
With time, the crew gained widespread recognition. Being the leader, scriptwriter, and director, Crazy Kennar decided to introduce more ideas to the crew on how they could help in the progress of growth.
He decided that he would be able to teach his crew members the required skills in shooting content.
“As you grow goals start shifting being each one of us had different ambitions towards the future and when things started working out, the compatibility started fading.
We had a meeting on how we can help each other with the progress we had, I remember there was a time I used to tell people to do this instead of just creating content what if people start mastering some specific skills than you just being an actor, until I started classes to teach on using some shooting equipment’s, you know when you have a team you want the best for everyone”
The content cartel clarified it as having different desires depending on the goals and ambitions which he did not degrade.
It became a whole problem that hindered the working progress and with no time the crew had to split up on some agreements and disagreements.
“But the problem comes in when we have different goals and ambitions the agenda I was pushing did not work, we reached a point where our goals differed and it was a stagnant point and things did not end well forcing the split “
What keeps on motivating the content cartel is that all the people he had worked with in the past are doing as well as in the present and he is enlightened by the progress.
“What I am always proud of is that we started as people who are amateurs in whatever they do but right how many influencers do we have whether it ended positively or negatively everyone got the direction they wanted”
