Probe as body of 11-year-old girl found hanging from rafter in Kakamega

Police officers in Kakamega are investigating a case where the body of an 11-year-old fifth-grade student from Shikhambi village in Kakamega county was found hanging from a roof rafter in her room

The girl’s grandmother said she was away and the girl was left at home having lunch with the rest of the family before she proceeded to her room.

The distraught grandmother said, “I was away and received a call saying that my granddaughter was no more. At first, I thought it was one of those cons calling me. When I called the girl’s grandfather, I couldn’t locate him.”

She continued, “I rushed back home and confirmed my worst fears. We need investigations to be done because to lose the girl under such circumstances is heartbreaking.”

Nyumba Kumi officer Reuben Otiende called on the police to conduct a thorough investigation to determine the circumstances leading to the death.
