Kirinyaga Man Who Married Tall Woman Says He Has Been Trolled for Being Shorter Than His Wife

 

A man from Kirinyaga county who recently went viral after sharing photos with his wife a week after their wedding says he has been bullied over his height. Peter Maina, who married a tall woman, responded to trolls over their height difference.  Peter Maina Wanjiru married Irene Karimi at a colourful wedding on October 12, 2024. The two, who have lived together for the past eight years, are blessed with two children. Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, Maina narrated that some netizens became concerned with their height difference after sharing a photograph they took on their wedding day on Facebook.  

“A few days after I posted the photo, many people interacted with it, commenting over my height. Which is very funny,” he said. Netizens troll Kirinyaga groom over his height He noted that some even asked personal questions like how a short man kisses his wife, and others asked why he chose to marry a much taller woman. However, the happy groom noted that his height has never been an issue in their relationship. He said that when he proposed to Irene, she asked him if he was ready to marry her despite their height difference. 

“I remember when I proposed to her, she asked me if I was sure I wanted to marry a tall girl, and I told her it’s not about the height. The heart falls in love and not the body,” he stated.  Peter Maina responds to online bullies The 39-year-old man said people should think about love and companionship regarding marriage. “In terms of marriage, one should marry for the right reasons, and that is love and companionship and let God guide you in marriage and do not start giving God conditions. 

“Be open and transparent in your relationships because so many secrets end up brewing problems for many unions. Spend your money together,” he advised. According to him, his story has inspired other women who have rejected proposals from short men to try it. “Since my story began trending, some ladies have come to the comment section saying they have been refusing advances from short people and are not getting younger,” he said.
