The Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) has released new directives ahead of the upcoming Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) and Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) exams.KNEC has issued new directives that will be used during the country’s KPSEA and KCSE examinations (photo for illustration). Speaking during the KNEC forum, Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba announced that exam invigilators will not be permitted to bring their mobile phones into the exam room. He also announced that this year’s exam papers will feature new elements, including the addition of candidates’ details on the question papers. Another directive states that supervisors will be rotated among different examination centres nationwide. Ogamba also warned candidates against engaging in exam irregularities and urged everyone to adhere to the exam regulations.
” I therefore call upon all of you and the candidates, centre managers, supervisors, invigilators to comply with the examination regulations, failure to which they’ll face the full force of the law,” Ogamba said. Approximately 1.3 million candidates are expected to sit for KPSEA exams, while 965 501 candidates are expected to sit for KCSE.
