More Divisions Rock Mt Kenya as MCAs Fail to Agree on Gachagua, Kindiki Endorsement

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua

Ward representatives from Mt Kenya have joined the power matrix in the region, and divisions have emerged about who to endorse between Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki and Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua. A section of ward representatives from Mt Kenya declared supporting Interior CS Kithure Kindiki.

At least 300 MCAs met on Wednesday, September 18, to declare their support to Kindiki who has in the recent past seemed to pose a political threat to Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua. The grassroots leaders argue the CS is best suited to coordinate development between their areas and the national government. They, therefore, said their move was in the best interest of the Mt Kenya electorate.
