Kenyan singer and entrepreneur Esther Akoth, popularly known as Akothee, was a guest on the Gidi na Ghost’ morning show on Radio Jambo today morning.
The 43-year-old artist discussed various topics, including personal matters, business, and her role as Uganda’s tourism ambassador.
She also shared plans for an upcoming grand wedding, where she will officially marry her current partner Nelson Oyugi, also known as Nelly Oaks.
“The other wedding (with Omosh) was small, it was just practice. The real wedding is coming soon. There’s a bigger one,” Akothee said.
She clarified that despite the challenges she has faced in her past relationships and marriages, she has not lost hope in love.
“Why would I lose hope in love? I need to be loved. I’m going to have another wedding. This one will be international. The guy is well-known,” she added.
However, the mother of five declined to reveal too many details about the upcoming wedding, noting that there are many people who don’t wish others well.
She stated that guests would be invited based on their value.
“There are many witches around… This time we won’t announce the date, it will be by invitation. And the invitation will be based on your wealth,” she said.
Akothee and Nelly Oaks have been openly celebrating their relationship over the past few months, following Akothee’s breakup with her ex-husband Denis Schweizer earlier last year.
Late last year, the musician seemed to confirm the rekindling of her relationship with Nelly Oaks during a live TikTok session.
In the session, Akothee was heard calling her manager “babe” several times, a term commonly used between romantic partners.
Nelly Oaks was also heard referring to Akothee as someone special to him, as the two shared romantic moments on camera.
“This is a special dinner for someone special like you. It’s a surprise,” Nelly Oaks was heard telling the musician.
When some fans asked if Nelly Oaks was in a relationship, the 43-year-old musician seemed to confirm that she held that position.
“You’re asking if Nelly has someone?! Am I a rock? Am I a rock? Or am I a tree? You’re asking if Nelly has someone, do you think I’m a rock? Or a stick? Don’t test my patience. It’s my life, I run it the way I want,” she said.
Nelly Oaks also made it clear that he wasn’t available for any other woman.
Previously, Akothee has been officially married twice, first to her first husband Jared Okello and second to Swiss national Denis Schweizer, also known as Mister Omosh.
