Embakasi: 24 Families Left Homeless after Night Fire Razes Down Jua Kali Trading Centre

 

Fire breaks out in Jua Kali Green Corner in Embakasi East 

Twenty-four families have been left homeless after a night fire razed down their homes in the Jua Kali Green Corner in Embakasi East Constituency. Fire breaks out in Jua Kali Green Corner in Embakasi East, affecting 24 homes.  The Kenya Red Cross Society (KRCS) team and the Nairobi County Fire Brigade responded swiftly to the scene and rescued all the victims. What caused Jua Kali Green Corner fire? The incident happened at 1am on Saturday, September 14.  “Around 1am, a fire broke out at Jua Kali Green Corner in Embakasi. Kenya Red Cross and Nairobi City County Fire Brigade responded swiftly, extinguishing the fire with no casualties. 

Unfortunately, 24 homes were destroyed,” said KRCS. The cause of the fire had not been disclosed at the time of publishing. The area Member of Parliament, Babu Owino, expressed his sympathy for the affected families and urged county officials to act swiftly while the incident was ongoing. “Fire outbreak at Jua Kali Embakasi East. Sadness in Embakasi. Nairobi County Fire Brigade should move with speed and put out the fire,” the MP said. Meanwhile, in February, a Liquefied Petroleum Gas explosion in the same constituency resulted in six fatalities and left over 200 people injured.
