Comedian YY has vowed not to discuss the breakup of his marriage with Marya Okoth.
He made this clear during a phone interview with a local radio station, where he flatly refused to talk about the reasons behind the end of their marriage.
“But to be honest, even you know when you made this call that if there’s an answer you won’t get, it’s this one. But if you have enough airtime and want to talk, go ahead, but I won’t give you an answer. Even you know you won’t get an answer, even if you ask or insist, none of your questions will be answered; you’re just wasting time. You need a beating,” YY stressed.
Last weekend, Marya Okoth confirmed via Instagram that she and her husband, YY, would no longer be referred to as husband and wife.
Without providing detailed reasons, Marya asked fans to respect their privacy, stating that she wasn’t ready to continue discussing her broken relationship with YY.
“Good morning, we regret to inform you that Marya Okoth and YY will no longer be together due to unavoidable circumstances. Thank you for your love and support throughout our relationship. We hope everyone will respect our privacy. Thank you,” Marya stated in her message.
In a previous interview, Marya Okoth revealed that she and YY began living together just an hour after their first meeting.
Speaking with the Mic Check Podcast, Marya said she moved into YY’s home immediately after their first date. They have been together since then and have a three-year-old daughter, Circe Gaona.
