A young girl in an incredible transformation

A young girl rescued after her heartbreaking story went viral has transformed admirably well. Kiambu girl Njeri with well-wisher (l). Njeri in a car heading to her new school (m). Njeri in her new school uniform (r).  A video of Njeri selling maize by a dusty roadside broke the hearts of many social media users who viewed the clip. The girl was in her school uniform and humbly knelt on the ground as she sold the maize in the evening. What does Njeri’s mum do for a living? Kenyans sympathised with her situation and rallied to help change her heart-rending state.  They visited her at her mother’s shop in Kiambu, where she sells maize to earn money and fulfil financial obligations. Wellwisher Karangu Muraya led the kind-hearted Kenyans in contacting Njeri and her mother, Lucy Mwaura. Njeri was still in her uniform when the compassionate citizens arrived at their shop. Who offered Njeri scholarship? They shopped for the little girl and raised money for her mother’s business, which she relies on to feed her family. Thika Town Member of Parliament (MP) Alice Ng’ang’a promised Njeri a better education and enrolled her in a posh international school. Karangu shared a heartwarming photo of him driving the girl to her new school, Westridge School. She looked happy as she posed for the photo, sitting comfortably in the luxurious car’s passenger seat. The school uniform fitted her perfectly, and she looked at peace after switching to the new school. Another shared update showed Njeri wearing black trousers, which are part of the school uniform. She could not help but smile after finding a new home in the lovely school and being assured of a bright future.
