A delegation from Zhengzhou city in China visited Kenya to bolster international relations and foster cultural exchange, highlighting the city’s strategic economic and cultural significance. Business Development Manager of the Kenya Tourism Board Fiana Ngesa (l) presented a letter of intent on cultural and tourism promotion to Mr. Jiao Jian on behalf of CEO June Chepkemei.Led by Mr. Jiao Jian, Director of Zhengzhou Radio and Television Station, the delegation included Mr. Zhao Qiheng, Director of Publicity of Zhongmu District, and Mr. Yang Xiang, Director of Publicity of Huij District. During their visit, held at the Pullman Hotel Nairobi, discussions centered on enhancing collaboration in cultural and tourism promotion between Kenya and Zhengzhou. The Kenya Tourism Board, represented by Fiana Ngesa, Business Development Manager, presented a comprehensive letter of intent to Mr. Jiao Jian, outlining mutual agreements and the exchange of video content. “This visit marks a pivotal moment in strengthening cultural and tourism relations between our regions,” stated CEO June Chepkemei, emphasizing the strategic importance of this partnership. Zhengzhou, located in Henan Province, serves as a vital cultural, economic, and transportation hub in central China. Renowned for historical sites like the Shang Dynasty ruins and the Shaolin Temple, Zhengzhou’s robust economy thrives on manufacturing, technology, and trade sectors. The city’s position along the Yellow River enhances its role as a critical link between northern and southern China. Mr. Yang Xiang of Huij District highlighted the potential for tourism development through radio, television, and cultural initiatives, citing attractions like the Yellow River National Cultural Park and Great Wall National Cultural Park as key destinations. “You can visit the Yellow River National Cultural Park, Grand Canal National Cultural Park, and also Great Wall National Cultural Park, which aims at developing tourism destination areas,” he said. The discussions concluded with a shared vision for future collaboration in tourism promotion, reflecting mutual aspirations for cultural exchange and economic growth between Kenya and Zhengzhou.
