See inside William Ruto’s Uasin Gishu compound Charlene took her followers on a tour of the expansive private residence via a widely shared Instagram video. In it, the bubbly first daughter showed her biking prowess riding to the residence’s gate in a black all-terrain vehicle.  A close-up shot of Charlene as she boarded the ATV, commonly referred to as a quad bike, revealed that her body-fit apparel was custom.  Her middle name, “Chelagat”, was embroidered on her left chest. The full-body garment’s light blue hue also matched the colour of the quad bike’s bulbar. A black Mercedes-Benz C-Class, wherein the video was recorded, escorted Charlene as she raced along the cypress-tree-lined driveway. Foliage from the compacted evergreen trees provided a screen which perfectly hid her family’s home from view. A majestic lime-green gate was only visible in the distance. Her father owns several properties, including a grand mansion in the heart of Karen, Nairobi, and another in Kilgoris, Narok County. Will Charlene Ruto join politics? Charlene could be gearing up to take the mantle from her father, who first became involved in politics in 1992. During the burial of General Francis Omondi Ogolla’s burial in Ng’iya Village, Siaya county, Charlene was among the few to speak and eulogise the fallen Chief of the Defence Forces. Ogolla’s daughter, Lorna Achieng, invited her to give a speech. When making his address, Ruto expressed surprise that Charlene graced Ogolla’s burial ceremony. Ruto said Charlene had requested to attend, but he dissuaded her against it, only to meet her at the venue. At the same time, the head of state praised Charlene, saying her insistence on attending the burial was a testament to Ogolla’s profound impact.
