Court Orders Japhet Koome to Personally Compensate KMPDU SG Davji Atellah after Teargas Attack

 

The High Court has sanctioned the Inspector General of Police Japhet Koome to settle Kenya Medical Practitioners Pharmacists Dentists Union (KMPDU) secretary general Davji Atellah following an attack meted on him on February 29. The High Court wants the Inspector General of Police Japthet Koome (pictured) to compensate KMPDU secretary general Davji Atellah, who was attacked by officers. Atellah was leading a protest over the delayed posting of medical interns and the payment of fees to postgraduate students when the police shot him with teargas. He sustained head injuries that saw him admitted to the Nairobi Hospital.
