Kibra-based singer Stevo Simple Boy has come out to announce that he parted ways with his wife Grace Atieno.
In a recent interview, the musician shared his disappointment at learning that Grace was pregnant with another man’s baby.
“Tulikuwa sawa hapo mbele. We were living together Then when she was about to give birth someone called me and whispered to me that they needed to tell me something. They said it was about time they revealed the truth to me and that I shouldn’t be upset. They told me the pregnancy is not mine. Mtoto si wangu,” he said to YouTuber Trudy Kitui.
Grace gave birth to a baby boy.
Stevo told Trudy that he was disappointed because he had given a promise to commit to this marriage wholly.
“Nilikuwa nampenda sana nilikuwa namjali sana. Hiyo kupata mimba nilijua wakati ambapo alienda kujifungua, alienda hospitali akapimwa akajua alikuwa mjaa mzito. Lakini hakuniambia ni yangu..so mi hapo nikajijazia,”
He also had a feeling the pregnancy wasn’t his but swore to be a father all the same.
“Mungu alikuwa ameniongoza huyo mtoto si wako. Sasa vile mimi nilikuwa na huruma nikasema ndio ulinikosea lakini wacha tuisihi pamoja,” he added.
“Kuna ile unahisi huyu si wangu lakini kulingana na mimi vile naelewa wasichana wa siku hizi huwanga wakifanya kosa ndio wanafungu amacho. So nikasema we kaa tu, tuishi pamoja kama mke na bwana,”.
But things changed when she gave birth.
“That’s when I was called and told the baby is not mine. But I wondered why was my wife calling me to ask me what we should name the baby. Na mambo ikaenda mrama,” Stivo added.
He didn’t try to reach out to his wife to confirm the allegation.
“That time when she went to give birth, she didn’t have a phone. Simu ilikuwa imepotea. So I couldn’t communicate. But there was an aunties number where we used to talk. However, I did not want to discuss such personal details over the phone also until I spoke with elders. So that’s when things changed,” he added.
He did not confront Grace about the claim that he wasn’t the child’s biological father.

Stevo said he was caught off-guard by her actions.
“Mimi sina makosa, nilimpenda kama mke wangu na nilimjali. Ila tu alifanya makosa hakusema ukweli. “
Stevo and Grace met in 2019, and they started dating. Their respective families approved of their relationship and the pair decided to move in together in 2022,” the rapper said.
