Kenya Ports Authority reports increase in cruise ships arriving in Kenya The arrival of MS Ambience adds to the flourishing cruise season experienced by the KPA, which has seen a steady influx of vessels since the commencement of the circuit in September last year. This increase in cruise traffic has been facilitated by the recently operational ultra-modern Cruise Terminal, a testament to KPA’s commitment to enhancing passenger experiences at the Port of Mombasa. “It has been a good cruise season for KPA, as we have received a fleet of vessels since the circuit began sometime in September last year. This has been supported by the now operational ultra-modern Cruise Terminal, which was developed by the Authority to enhance passenger experience at the Port of Mombasa and solidify Kenya’s position as a hub not only for cargo operations but also for cruise tourism in Africa,” said KPA. The development of this terminal underscores Kenya’s growing stature as a premier destination not only for cargo operations but also for cruise tourism within Africa. Cruise ship with 2,500 tourists arrives in Mombasa This news arrives about two months after the Kenya Ports Authority announced the arrival of the MSC Poesia luxury ship with 2,500 passengers on board. Kenyans were excited with the news, many terming it as significantly beneficial to the tourism sector. Other Kenyans commended the port authority for the standards that enabled the port to host huge luxury ships.
