Mama Zuchu- I keep being hit on by ‘small boys’

Legendary Tanzanian singer Khadija Kopa, who is mother to new-school singer Zuchu has revealed that she is only getting hit on by younger boys.

Kopa said this when asked if she has gotten a man.

“Wanatokezea lakini sitaki vijana. Mungu hajanijalia kupata wanaume watu wazima, sijui kwa nini,” she told Wasafi Fm

(I’ve seen them but I don’t want boys. God has not granted me the will to get a man who is mature)

Adding “Watoto wa siku hizi hawaogopi.” (Kids of nowdays do not fear)

Asked what she tells them when they hit on her, she said;

“Nawaambia wewe ni mtoto mdogo kwangu. Haufai kwangu mimi, katafute kijana mwenzio….Sina muda huo.” (I tell them they are kids, they don’t deserve me and I tell them to go look for younger women. I don’t have time for that)

She concluded by saying she needs a man who is 50 and above.

Meanwhile, Kopa made headlines in the beginning of this year when she said she does not recognize Zuchu and Diamond’s relationship.

She said the only relationship she will accept is one that has followed the protocol of dowry payment.

“Mahusiano yake siyajui. Sababu mahusiano tunayoyajua sisi wazee kwa utaratibu wa utamaduni wetu mtu akija kiposa ndio unayajua mahusiano. Lakini mahusiano ya nje siyajui. Anayajua yeye mwenyewe kwa hilo muulize yeye mwenyewe,” She told Wasafi Media

(I do not know her relationship. Because the relationships that we old people know according to the order of our culture, is when someone comes to the house and introduces themselves, that’s when you know about the relationships. But I don’t know foreign relations. Ask her about the relationship)

“Ila bado hajaposwa, hakuna mahari. Kama kuna mtu ana mapesa yake aje, sio pesa nyingi. Simba hajamuoa wala hajaleta mahari, sio mumewe wala sio mchumba wake, mtu mwingine yeyote anawezakuja.”

(But she is not married yet, there is no dowry. If someone has money, they should come, it’s not a lot of money. Simba has not married her nor brought dowry, he is neither her husband nor her fiancé, anyone else can come)
