Members of National Assembly now want the president to declare the ongoing floods a national disaster and direct provision of urgent intervention measures.
The MPs adjourned normal business to express how their constituents were suffering due to floods caused by El-Nino rains.
They argue declaration of the floods as a national disaster will invite even the international community and donors to provide assistance to affected persons.
