Scores Injured, Elephant Killed In Collision On Nairobi-Mombasa Highway

 

Residents of the Maungu area descended on an elephant carcass after an accident on the Nairobi-Mombasa highway on Saturday night that killed the animal and seriously injured one person.

Several other passengers on the Tahmeed bus on its way to Nairobi were injured and taken to the Moi County Referral Hospital in Voi.

According to a police report, the bus was traveling from Mombasa to Nairobi when the accident occurred.

The driver is said to have been speeding when he collided with an elephant crossing the road into Tsavo East National Park.   BY CITIZEN DIGITAL
