Ian Nene recounts experience learning his mom had cancer

Former Machachari actor Ian Nene aka Almasi has opened up about his mother getting cancer.

The thespian who has been studying abroad divulged this deeply personal information on the 1clubofficial podcast on the episode titled, ‘How to Find your Life Purpose From a Monk – Ian Nene’.

During an airing of the teaser, Ian can be heard telling the interview his journey after leaving the Citizen TV show and trying to study abroad.

He began by saying that he had been accepted to a prestigious American university but found out that it was too expensive.

“I managed to get a scholarship to one of the top drama schools that we have back home. And then I had applied to my dream school which was in America. The American School for the Dramatic Arts. And I got in but it was too expensive!”

That was when the clip shifted to the eclectic Ian speaking about an unknown happening in his personal life.

“Later on, my mom called and told me that she had some news for me. Obviously, I rushed home. My mom never really talks like that. If she does talk like that you know that there is something up.”

And that’s when she dropped the bombshell,

“So I went home she sat me down and told me that she went to the hospital, I got a body scan and they found out that I had cancer.”

Watch the clip below;

Although Ian doesn’t state the dates of when the above transpired one can surmise that it might have taken place between 2017 and 2019 as that was when he was setting himself up to go to college. But I could be wrong.

Either way, we at Mpasho.co.ke hope and pray that Ian’s mom was able to beat the illness and is now in remission.  BY MPASHO NEWS
