Renowned comedian Timothy Kimani Ndegwa, popularly known as Njugush, has opened up on his affection for the television show Real House Helps of Kawangware, revealing the strong bond that developed among the cast members during its run.

In an exclusive interview with Nairobi News, Njugush expressed his sentiments about the show which offered him a breakthrough in the world of content creation, highlighting the enduring connection and affiliation with the series and the cast.

“If there is something I will never forget, it is the bond we had at Real House Helps of Kawangware. It was a beautiful show,” he recalled.

The comedian expressed his admiration for the unique talents each cast member brought to the table, emphasizing that their distinct roles contributed to the show’s overall enjoyment.

Characters like Njambi, Awiti, and Matilda, along with other actors and actresses, added depth and humor to the series.

Njugush also mentioned the cast members continue to maintain contact, reflecting on their journey and the progress they’ve made. “Yes, we talk and we do meet, and we are even thinking of what we are able to do,” he added, hinting at potential future collaborations or projects.

Addressing his departure from the show in May 2016, Njugush explained his decision during an appearance on “The Trend” hosted by Larry Madowo.

He cited changes in scripting as the reason for his exit, stating, “I believe the show is great, and it can still do well without me.”

Real House Helps of Kawangware, which began in 2014, chronicles the lives of domestic workers and their friends as they navigate the challenges and triumphs of living in the Kawangware slums.

The show captured the hearts of viewers by combining the talents of some of Kenya’s best comedians, delivering consistently entertaining episodes.

With its relatable scenarios of domestic worker-employer dynamics, the show resonated with Kenyan audiences.

After a hiatus, the comedy series made its return to KTN Home in November 2022, bringing back a dose of humor and relatability to the screen.

The cast, which featured seasoned comedians with extensive industry experience, contributed to the show’s enduring popularity and appeal.   BY NAIROBI NEWS
