NYS Scandal: Ex-PS Omollo To Know Fate Next Month As DPP Seeks To Withdraw Charges

A Nairobi court will on July 17, 2023 rule on whether it will allow an  application by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) to withdraw charges in the National Youth Service (NYS) scandal case against former Youth Principal Secretary Lilian Omollo.

The ODPP on Friday asked the court to withdraw the charges saying that, so far, the 12 witnesses who have testified in the matter have not directly or indirectly implicated the ex-PS.

The application to have charges against Ms. Omollo withdrawn was not objected by the other accused persons.

“The prosecution humbly prays that this application be allowed and the charges against the first accused person be withdrawn under section 87A of the criminal procedure code,” the ODPP told the court.    BY CITIZEN DIGITAL
