Bungoma senate by-election: Polling stations open across the county

Polling stations have opened in a by-election that will see Bungoma’s next senator elected.

The vote was triggered when Ford Kenya’s Moses Wetang’ula, who had won the seat in the August 9 election, resigned in September after he was elected the Speaker of the National Assembly.

Eleven candidates have put themselves forward to become Bungoma’s new senator.

Polls will remain open until 5pm with results expected a short time after.    BY DAILY NATION
