Pakistan ex-prime minister injured in gun attack at protest rally

 

Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan shot in the leg at a political rally on Thursday in an ‘assassination attempt, ’Raoof Hasan, his senior Khan aide has confirmed.

“He is in a stable condition,” Hasan told AFP, adding: “This was an attempt to kill him, to assassinate him.”

A gunman opened fire while Mr Khan, 70, was giving a speech to supporters at a rally in Wazirabad in Punjab province, officials said, wounding him and some of his supporters.   BY DAILY NATION
