1 family paid for CITAM’s Sh 27 million outreach truck

After Christ is the Answer Ministries (CITAM) recently disclosed its balance statement for the year 2021, Kenyans reacted with wonder.

The church, which is highly transparent about its finances, revealed that it had earned more than Sh 2.5 billion last year.

The audit also revealed that the church has a 20.3% surplus margin for church operations.

The church also made the news-making statement that they had started using a moving truck for their evangelism mission. But that wasn’t all.

While many Christians praised the church for acquiring a vehicle that would aid in gospel propagation, one female commenter asserted that the truck had been purchased with money from a church member.

And how much was it that the churchgoer allegedly took away? 27 million sh!

“CITAM Karen Modern Evangelism truck. How cool. But the coolest part is that one family gave the 27 million shillings to purchase the truck. One family!” Subie Queen wrote on Twitter.

In the comments section, there was a heated discussion on why someone would donate so much money to the church.

Martin Mugo  I love this. God is raising kingdom financiers who will facilitate the work of God. The church will be running it’s affairs without donors or politicians.

Caesar@Lloyd_Nietzsche CITAM is a business not a church. The organization has schools, hotels/resorts, an estate, Sacco and many more arms. The church is just one arm of the organization.

Although the Sh 2.7 billion is a lot, Joel Osteen’s church in America had a $ 90 million (Sh 10,8 billion) budget per year back in 2018.
