Late singer's last message to Diamond Platnumz

Bongo Flava artiste Maunda Hellen Zorro lost her life in a fatal car accident on Wednesday, April 13, in Kigamboni, Dar es Salaam.

Her death was confirmed by her brother Banana Zorro saying he was with her a few hours before the accident occurred.

The two siblings were at the funeral of their long time close friend, according to Banana and at 10 pm he received reports of his sister’s death from a family member.

Nick Cannon opens up about last moments with his son
Nick Cannon shared on his talk show that his 5-month-old son passed away over the weekend.

Before her death, Maunda went on Instagram Live and lamented about how Tanzanian record labels are not willing to offer deals to musicians who have been in the industry for years.

"If indeed I need to come back to music then I need management that can work with me. There are people that I have been looking for to work with but nothing happened. This year there are people I have talked to and they tell me they are only signing Hip-hop guys, not singers."

A frustrated Maunda explained, "I don't believe that I have to do other things for people to recognise my talent, I have a proven record but right now I cannot hustle. I have experienced other people who try other things that are not even straight, I have shut them down, I don't want any part of it."

She added, "I wonder if they feared working with artists from the older generation, I don't know if they fear that they won't get returns on their investment. The only one who has done it is Naseeb - Diamond Platnmuz - who signed Queen Darlin. Maybe he did that because she is his sister and they have been very successful."

Prince Harry reveals that his son Archie wants to be either an "astronaut" or a "helicopter pilot" but always reminds the tot that "character" is what matters most.

Maunda pointed out that it is not all doom and gloom, there are managers who have taken on artists from her generation.

"Yes, there are those who have but it did not end well, if it means one person spoilt it doesn't mean that all of them will ruin the opportunity." Adding that despite the lack of management goodwill, "There are many challenges female artists face in the industry."

She died before her dreams would come to fruition. Early reports have it that the car Maunda was driving was hit by a truck carrying sand. She is survived by three sons.

Maunda was famed for songs such as ‘Nataka Niwe Wako’ and ‘Mapenzi Ya Wawili’. She was buried at Maweni Kigamboni at the home of Mzee Zorro.    BY MPASHO NEWS
