Nigerian released after coning woman Sh31million in Kilimani

 

A Nigerian man accused of obtaining Sh31million from a woman by false pretences was on Monday released.

Edwin Chukwudiebere Okoye was charged for conspiring with others not before court to defraud Bella Bronislavia.

They defrauded Bronislavia between May 1, 2017 and May 14 ,2018 on the ground that they were in a business that needed funding.

The Nigerian is accused of receiving the money by falsely pretending that he had a tender with the government.

The charge sheet says that the offence was committed at a club in Kilimani within Nairobi county.

He was released on Sh3million bond or a cash bail of Sh2million.

The accused person presented his passport in court.

The case will be mentioned in Jan 11.
