Couple linked to robbery with violence nabbed by DCI

A couple linked to a series of robbery with violence within Nairobi's Dagoreti Sub-county has been arrested.

The two a man and a woman aged 29 and 21 years respectively were arrested at their house along Ngina road when DCI sleuths raided their house.

DCI boss George Kinoti said the raid followed a tip-off from members of the public.

"A Pistol and 16 rounds of live ammunition were in the wee hours of today recovered from a couple when our officers raided their house in Dagoretti along Ngina Road. The arrests were made following a spate of violent robberies that have rocked the sub-county," Kinoti said.

He said  CCTV footage from various crime scenes also linked the duo, who were also found in possession of a police smoke jacket and various denominations of foreign currency belonging to different countries.

"Interrogations are ongoing pending their arraignment, with charges of Robbery with Violence being preferred," the DCI said.

Chief Inspector of Police has been arrested for sodomising four boys and two adults for an unspecified period in Chogoria, Tharaka Nithi county.

"Upon expeditious interrogation of the boys, it was established that the senior officer has been sodomizing them for an unspecified period," DCI George Kinoti said.

Via Twitter on Tuesday, Kinoti said in a horror-like scene the boys were found sleeping on the floor in the perpetrator’s house in within Chogoria Township.

"The perpetrator is supposed to safeguard the rights of such victims as a law enforcement officer," Kinoti said.

Kinoti said officers rescued the four boys aged between 14-15 years and two young adults of 18 & 19 years, from the yoke of sodomy.
