Why Sonko wants three judges off his case

Mike Sonko
Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has moved to court seeking to block two judges from hearing a case in which he wants the order locking him out of office suspended.
In the fresh suit filed at the Anti-Corruption Court on Thursday, the governor wants justices Mumbi Ngugi and Ngenye Macharia barred from handling the case.
He claims that since the two judges have previously made precedent decisions touching on stopping two governors from stepping into their offices as soon as they are charged with corruption, they will likely have a predetermined mindset when handling his case.
His lawyer Harrison Kinyanjui told the court that in the circumstances, his client is apprehensive of not receiving a just hearing if the two judges preside over the case.
The two judges have issued orders barring Governor Ferdinand Waititu (Kiambu) and Moses Lenolkulal (Samburu) from accessing office.
The Nairobi governor also has a problem with a third judge, Justice John Onyiego, whom he accuses of not granting him a fair hearing in a case the judge is handling in which the county boss protested against some of the allegations he is facing in court.
He argues he will find no justice, hence his move to have the three judges out of his case.
