Newly crowned Cecafa champions Harambee Starlets returned to the country to a colourful reception at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) on Tuesday.
David Ouma's charges Monday beat Tanzania 2-0 in the final at Chamazi Stadium in Dar es Salaam to emerge winners of this year's Cecafa Women Championships.
Teenage sensation Jentrix Shikangwa came off the bench to net a double against Kilimanjaro Queens.
Starlets cored 22 goals in the tournament and didn't concede any to win the regional title with a 100 percent record.

At the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), Starlets was received by Ministry of Sports officials led by Chief Administrative Secretary Hassan Noor Hassan, who was holding brief for Sports Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohamed currently out of the country.
Football Kenya Federation (FKF) hired a truck to ferry the new Cecafa queens from JKIA through Outering Road and into Thika Road before hosting them for lunch at the three-star Utalii Hotel.
Initially, the trophy parade, which is the first of its kind by a Kenyan football team, was supposed to start at JKIA and end at Utalii hotel, but passing through Mombasa Road and the Nairobi Central Business District proved impossible due to heavy traffic.

The chilly and rainy weather did injustice to the new Cecafa champions as fans did not line up on the roads to celebrate their historic achievement. It's the first time Kenya ran out winners at the regional women’s competition after Zanzibar won the first edition in 1986 and Tanzania reigned supreme in the last two editions held in 2016 and 2018.
Starlets were treated to various traditional Kenyan tunes by cultural dancers from the airport to Utalii hotel where the government, FKF and Ouma, praised the girls for their feat.
Starlets is expected to break for December holiday before assembling early next year for the 2020 Africa Women Cup of nations (AWCON) qualifiers in March.
