Cambridge Universal College (Cusco), Uasin Gishu District, FC was officially crowned champions of the 2018/19 North Football Federation (FKF) league after defeating Kimore White Stars 3-0 in their last match at the Eldoret Showground at the weekend.

Cusco, who was coached by former Eldor KCC player John Paul, won the league with 96 points, 14 ahead of Eldoret City who finished second. Kimore is in third place with 80 points.

The champions scored their first goal through playmaker Robert Miriera in the 23rd minute before striker Awan Jongkuch added two goals in the 81st and 92nd minutes.

"Winning this game is very important for us to prove to our sponsors that we are equal to the task ahead of us. "We are not only focused on Division Two but also in the Kenya Premier League," Jongkuch said.

Paul said that his team's victory marked the start of serious preparation for the Second Division match.

"This victory is a new dawn because we focus on the next level. We not only focus on the National Super League but also the MPA. Hopefully some of my players will play for Harambee Stars in the future, "Paul said.

Club protector Alex Kanda promises to offer scholarships to players on the team who want to continue any course on campus.

"Although most of our players are students at Cambridge Universal College, we will expand our sponsors to all players who want to pursue their chosen courses at this institution," Kanda said.

After the end of the branch league, it is now official that Cusco, Eldoret City and Kimore have been promoted to the FKF Division Two league.
