10 injured after a car collided with a matatu in Nyandarua

Two passengers were treated at Nakuru General Hospital with serious injuries after an accident in Magomano along the Ol Kalou-Miharati road in Nyandarua on Tuesday night.

Nine other passengers suffered minor injuries during a collision involving a matatu and a car.

Gideon Ngumi County Police Commander attributed the collision to careless driving by a Toyota Vitz car driver.


"Private car drivers are driving from Miharati towards the town of Ol Kalou. When he reached the Magomano area, he tried to overtake from the wrong side and he collided with eyes heading in the opposite direction, "he said.

Among the injured was an eight-year-old girl.


JM Memorial Four Level Hospital Administrator Mary Njuguna said nine patients with minor injuries were treated and allowed to go home.

"Two victims suffered serious injuries. We have managed to stabilize them before referring them to the Nakuru General Hospital for special treatment, "Njuguna said.
