Moses Kuria has the best tweet of the year

Politicians and social media are not really a good mix, most of what they or their handlers post is usually pure PR  and rarely elicits emotion.
I know we have the likes of President Donald Trump but that is an anomaly, an event that will probably never be replicated. But for the rest, there is nothing that rarely gets you to spit out your drink laughing unless you were on Moses Kuria’s timeline on Sunday night.
Mr. Kuria, the Gatundu South Member of Parliament is a special brand of politician and you either love him or hate him; there are no fence-sitters when it comes to him.
But his tweet on Sunday night was a winner, no way you can hate on it no matter the side of the aisle you sit in the love/hate chapel of the legislator.
The gem of a tweet came up as Mr. Kuria was responding to former Minister for Justice Martha Karua who was defending her tenure as Gichugu Member of Parliament.
A Twitter user @Thurfist had blasted Ms. Karua for not developing her constituency.

“I’m at Kianyaga in Gichugu former @MarthaKarua’s constituency. I wonder what she did for the people the many years she was M.P,” posed @Thurfist.
Always ready to respond to any criticism, Ms. Karua hit back; “Show me one single constituency in rural Kenya without these dusty little shopping centers including gatundu.”

Why pick on Gatundu? Why does everyone pick on Gatundu? Even Tina Turner “What’s love Gatundu, Gatundu with it?”

That set up Mr. Kuria, who’s not really a respector of persons, to come up with the best remix of Tina Turner’s 1984 hit “What’s Love Got To Do With It.”
“Why pick on Gatundu? Why does everyone pick on Gatundu? Even Tina Turner “What’s love Gatundu, Gatundu with it?”
For the slow among us, Kuria, or whoever tweeted, just changed the “Got to do” line with Gatundu and it fit so well, it shocked many of us on why that has never come up for a whole 34 years.
The reactions tell it all, it was a gem of a tweet and super hilarious and we just have to hand him the best tweet of the year, probably by any Kenyan On Twitter but to avoid drama, we will put it in the “By a politician” category.
Take a bow Moses Kuria.
