A family of three was killed after a trailer crashed into their house while they were sleeping in Buuri, Meru County.
Buuri OCPD David Muange said the trailer veered off the Subuiga-Isiolo road at Kwa Mungania area ramming into six houses killing a man, a woman and their child.
Three people were injured and the driver of the trailer was killed during the Friday 7am crash.
Mr Muange said the three survivors, two who were in the trailer and a resident, were recuperating at St Theresa’s Kirua Mission Hospital.
He said the the four bodies were taken to Isiolo Level 5 Hospital mortuary.
The trailer was ferrying fertilizer from Mombasa to Isiolo.
“It seems the driver was very exhausted,” Mr Muange said.
