The Nation Newsplex won the African Fact-checking Award for work it did in the lead-up to the 2017 General Election.
The contest organised by Africa Check honours the best fact-checking work done by journalists across Africa.
From May-August this year, Newsplex, the data journalism project of the Nation Media Group, interrogated statements made by politicians and government officials during campaigns.
The interrogations often exposed misleading claims made by the leaders.
Mr Allan Olingo, a journalist with the Nation Media Group, was also shortlisted for an article titled Tourism, construction drive economic growth that was published in The East African.
The ceremony was held in Johannesburg, South Africa, on Saturday.
