Influencer Dies after His Private Aircraft Crashes and Bursts Into Flames During Livestream

Popular influencer Tang Feiji has tragically passed away after crashing his lightweight aircraft during a livestreamed flight. Tang Fieji passed away after his light aircraft crashed.  The 55-year-old content creator was a popular figure on Douyin, the Chinese version of TikTok, where he had built a following of more than 100,000 fans. How did Tang die? According to PEOPLE, Tang was livestreaming on September 27 when he lost control of his ultralight aircraft mid-flight. Reports from state-run China News Service (CNS) and local outlet Cover News confirmed that the plane crashed and immediately burst into flames. 

Videos shared on social media showed Tang taking off, flying briefly, and then suddenly losing altitude rapidly before the fatal crash. Hundreds of viewers reportedly watched the horrifying scene unfold live on Douyin. Fortunately, no other injuries or fatalities were reported on the ground at the crash site. In earlier posts, Tang revealed that he had spent 350,000 Chinese Yuan (about KSh 6 million) on the aircraft. He explained that the plane could reach altitudes of nearly 2,000 feet and travel at over 60 miles per hour, adding that he had mastered its controls after just six hours of practice. However, Tang had previously admitted to facing technical challenges with the aircraft. According to Cover News, he experienced fuel gauge malfunctions twice in 2024, both incidents causing his plane to drop less than 30 feet before he regained control. Reactions to his death Following the tragic accident, Tang’s social media accounts were switched to private. 

News of his death sparked an outpouring of grief from fans, who penned touching tributes in his memory. Here are some of their comments: MY Come: “My friend had seen him livestreaming before and said that the guy was very enthusiastic and patient in explaining his flying knowledge. This is very unexpected.” Jiange: “My condolences, I hope people stop sharing videos of his last moments to give the family peace. He was a good person. Kanze: “Very sad, he was a really nice person from what I saw a online. May his soul rest in eternal peace.” Toby887: “Seems like a guy who was just loving flying. so sad, my condolences.”
