Tragedy struck a construction site in Ndonya area, Kilifi County, when a 25-year-old worker died after being hit by a falling block.
Police identified the deceased as Mangi Karisa, who was among construction workers at the site on September 10, 2025, when the incident occurred.
A stone reportedly fell from an upper floor and struck him on the head, causing fatal injuries. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival.
Authorities visited the scene as part of an ongoing investigation into the death. The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy.
Such deaths at construction sites have been occurring despite ongoing efforts to address safety concerns. Officials from the county government, police, and the National Construction Authority are handling the cases.
